Promovendo a edição especial de seu terceiro disco, Master of Puppets, que será relançado com uma quantidade enorme de faixas extras em 10 de novembro, o Metallica divulgou a versão demo da música título.
Gravada no final de 1985, a versão soa, como era de se esperar, mais crua e áspera, além de contar com os vocais mais agudos de James Hetfield, na linha do que ele fazia nos dois primeiros álbuns da banda, Kill ‘Em All (1983) e Ride the Lightning (1984).
